Broncos Bench Wilson, Stidham to Start
Denver's Quarterback Change
The Denver Broncos have made a significant change at the quarterback position, benching Russell Wilson and giving Jarrett Stidham the opportunity to prove himself as the team's starter.
Offensive Overhaul
In addition to the quarterback change, the Broncos have also overhauled their offensive line, which has struggled in recent seasons. The team has added several new starters to the unit, including tackle Evan Neal and guard Dalton Risner.
Solid Defense
Despite the struggles on offense, the Broncos' defense is expected to remain strong. The unit is led by All-Pro cornerback Patrick Surtain II and safety Justin Simmons.
Stidham's Opportunity
Stidham, who was acquired in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason, will now have the chance to show what he can do as a starting quarterback in the NFL. The former Auburn standout has shown flashes of potential in the past, but has yet to fully establish himself as a reliable starter.
Wilson's Backup Role
Wilson, who was acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks last offseason, will now serve as Stidham's backup. The nine-time Pro Bowler had a disappointing season in Denver in 2022, but could still have value as a veteran presence on the team.
